Knee Pain Treatment in Elizabeth, NJ
Knee pain stops you from walking, climbing stairs, and staying active. Whether it started from an injury, overuse, or just showed up one day, physical therapy is the fastest path back to normal.

Overview
Knee pain is one of the most common complaints we see, especially in active adults and anyone over 50. The knee is a simple hinge joint, but it takes a beating from everything above and below it. Weak hips, flat feet, tight hamstrings, and muscle imbalances all show up as knee pain.
The most common causes we treat: patellofemoral syndrome (runner's knee), osteoarthritis, meniscus irritation, IT band syndrome, and post-surgical rehab after ACL or meniscus repair. Each one has a specific rehab protocol. The key is accurate diagnosis first.
Karl Cuenco evaluates your knee, but also checks your hip strength, ankle mobility, and overall alignment. Many knee problems start at the hip. Weak glutes let the knee collapse inward during walking and stairs. Fixing that muscle imbalance takes pressure off the knee joint permanently.
For arthritis patients, we combine physical therapy with acupuncture. Hyung Kim uses specific points around the knee to reduce inflammation and swelling without medication. Many patients cut their NSAID use in half after starting acupuncture while doing their PT exercises consistently.

"My knee hurt every time I went up stairs. Karl found that my hip muscles were weak and that was causing the knee to take extra stress. Six weeks of exercises and the stair pain is completely gone."
